Challenge week #1: A

This challenge is now closed. Thanks to all who voted! Avocados were the winner of the week. Stay tuned!

Please vote for your favourite ingredient! The ingredient with the most votes will star in the weekend cookup.

As you can see, we're going to work our way through the alphabet, with four potentials up each week.

Voting closes every Friday, 5pm EST.

This week's list of challenge ingredients (with a running tally of votes):
  • Apples: 3.5
  • Avocados: 13.5
  • Almonds: 4.5
  • Artichokes: 4.5
In the interest of fairness, try and keep it to one vote per person. Heh. (Doesn't mean you can't recruit your flatmates, though.)

EDIT: You may split your vote by giving .5 to an ingredient and the rest to another. This is great for the indecisive among you - I know I am! (However, you can't split to quarters or thirds. My brain will reduce to the consistency of agave nectar.)

As an avid lover, I vote avocados. i wanted to throw down the gauntlet a lil more and vote almonds, but alas, it's not to be.

Almonds!! I love chicken and almonds - oops! I forgot, chop the chicken part out - agh! I mean cut the chicken out..... doh! doh! doh!

Gently pick up the chicken, kiss it and safely remove it from the kitchen and then prepare a scrumptious almond and almond dish!! (whew!)

Have fun I look forward to hearing and maybe even trying the results - we have a heap of almonds at the moment J'net had them hiding at the back of the fridge... hmmmmm

oh man that's a tough call. I'm all for non-traditional things to do with either avocados or almonds. Heck, if you can work the two together I'll be duly impressed!

I vote apples. I love apples and there are never enough apple recipes for me. But if my husband were here he would absolutely vote for avocados, so I will mention his vote too.

Sare, I think we will have to go with the fruit of the Persea American.

Oh, Maurice says he'd like to see you be creative with avocado too.

Well, since Armadillos are obviously off the list, I guess I'll go for Almonds. :-P I eat about four million a day and yet I hate marzipan, so if you can create something better than marzipan you'll have a devoted listener for life!

All the best with the podcast - I'm excited!

Almonds. Not to be contrary (as it may seem given the piddling support for the wondernut thus far), but I do love them so.

oooh i am in desperate need for recipes, i planted about a bazillion little artichoke seeds and have nothing to do with the crop as of yet!!

Avocado. The raw foodist's lifeblood. Vegan butter, sour cream, creme fraiche, and BĂ©arnaise rolled into, or rather, out of, one perfect fruit. By all means, avocado.
